Yesterday we pumped up a 9m RRD Passion to have a close look. The Passion is one of the new hybrid Delta style kites. It's delta shape gives the Leading Edge a very rounded shape which makes relaunch almost effortless. It's purpose is to be an all around kite for everyone. It's not too fast but it's not too slow. We will have these kites out this coming weekend so stay tuned for the review.

My first thoughts after seeing the kite are:
I'm amazed at how simple it is. The bridle is long but it's so incredibly simple! Build quality is top-notch. RRD really stepped it up this year with attention to detail and they really beefed up all the kites in their lineup where they needed it. Once again the bags are very nice and also simple. The bars are similar to last year's but with a few improvements. Overall a really nice package. Can't wait to try the new Delta style kites.

I saw it was on the water in the video from your demo day, so I assume yoy tried it or at least got some comments on it?
A bit curious - how is it, maybe compared to the Obsession?
Considering af 7m as smallest kite

Yea we've been flying the 13m and 9m Passion kites for a couple weeks. They are unlike anything I've flown before. These kites accelerate like crazy and go upwind like no other. That said they take a bit of getting used to but after spending some time on them I really think these kites are on to something. Try one if you can and give it some time.
They also relaunch easier than anything I've flown.

Thanks Codder
I'm flying Obsession in 9 + 12m and like them a lot - but wondering if my 200 lbs should choose the Passion 7m as smallest kite. Seemingly the turning speed should be a little slower, but that won't matter in a 7m I'm sure, maybe quite the contrary.
And if the Passion has more grunt it could be a good thing.
