Consideirng buying a 2009 Torch. Can any of you comment on it, e.g. compared to LF Hifi?
Coming to think of it, I don't read many C-kite comments here. Are you guys more into Waroo and Era kind of SLEs?

Just wanna make my untalented freestyle attempts less untalented and I understand a real C should do that........

Good stuff. (grin)
I am looking forward to furthering my lack of skills this season as well. Debating doing it either on the new 'roo or maybe the Kahoona.

Interested to hear about the Naish.

Well I cantell you this: I met recently a local Best teamrider who is a pretty good freestyler. He has Nemesis' and then a big Kahoona in size 13 (13.5?).
He stated that he clearly prefer the Kahoona - also for freestyle (thumb)

You should look at the new Best Nemesis NXG's... they made this kite more of a C-style and I've heard it is awesome for freestyle...but still great at jumping, wave riding, etc... Not sure where you live, but I think Best is actually on their demo tour this weekend and next week, and will have all the new kites with them. Another option that I've just come to like a lot, are the New Caution Mayhem X kites. I have been riding a few of them for a few weeks now, and love them. Great for surf, jumping and unhooked. I'm sure the Naish Torch is a good option too...but those things are expensive!!! Think there are much better options out there, for way less money.... anyway, my 6 cents...

Hey...one other option could be the Wainman kites...those things rock unhooked and in the waves... very grunty, super fast, etc... just not the best jumping kites if you still want to do that... anyway, just another thought....

Thanks.
I am not much into jumping and hangtime stuff at all. Waves neither as i haven't got the time to go to wave spots around here.

So actually purely into unhooked stuff like raleys, s-bends and next challenge is raley2blind. Hooked-in kiteloops also got my attention, but just boosting high not really at this point in time (what)

Hooked in though I would loooove to laern to do the "Jesus walk" !!!! (thumb)

The Torch is one of the most refined C kites out there. I just rode the 2010 torch yesterday and for the style riding your after its one of the best options you can go for. They really haven't changed much since last year but then again I never would want them to. I wouldn't go with the Wainman for that style of riding. Though the Rabbit series are solid kites they're no where near as refined as the Torch for freestyle especially unhooked. Oh yea and hooked in kiteloops are extremely fluid with the Torch.

The newer style SLE's offer a ton of performance but C kites(the good ones) just have a feel that you lose when you start attaching bridles.

I bought a Vegas 10m, 2009.
Was very much in doubt on Torch or Vegas, but ended up with a Vegas. No particular argument for that really.

Seems like they are maybe different, but both in the more "nice" C category compared to Fuel and Hadlow Pro.
