Daryl Drown, owner of Ocean Extreme Sports, headed to Utah this past weekend for some much deserved vacation time. I will not say rest and relaxation, because that is NOT what he was going for. Utah has been in a drought for snow much of this season, with the Pacific jet stream splitting off the coast of California and much of the storm energy going either up and over into Canada or south through Arizona and New Mexico. This past week the weather pattern changed and a strong jet consolidated over northern Utah, bringing 6 feet of snow, wind and cold temperatures.
If you have not been to Utah in winter, and you like to ski or snowboard, you are missing out. Here is some video from my past trip a couple of years back when we got 6 feet of snow in 1 week:
