Okay, I finally got off of the fence and booked a Cabarete trip for 8/04/06 to 8/13/06. American Airlinez has round trip flights selling now from Miami to Puerto Plata for $366.00 (including all taxes) for this time frame.

If you want to avoid being humilated by riding next to the Bone and finding yourself unable to match the Bone's mad style and skillz, I suggest that you keep your ass away from the DR during those 9 days. With a little luck and the blessing of the Wind Godz, no hurricanez will try to cramp the Bone's 2006 DR throwdown.

If you decide to charge, check out the mad cheap lodgings available at Extreme Hotel in Cabarete. We had a good stay there in 2005, aside from Daryl tormenting everyone with practical jokez.

Nice one EBone. I have the hookup in Puerto Rico, but it's alot more complicated than Cabarete. There's no reason to rent a car with Extreme Hotels picking you up at the airport. I wish I could join you guys on this one, but I'm going surfing in Costa Rica in August, and can't afford 2 trips this summer with the upcoming wedding.

Oh yeah, did you see that we had a northeaster this weekend with 20-25 knot NE winds on Saturday and 15-20 knots Sunday? Scott keeps whining about how there's more wind in Tampa than St. Augustine in the summer, but I think this weekend pretty much squashed that theory.

Whether we hook up or not, you are never alone in the water at Cabarete. Usually, you are riding with 100 of your closest friends. The crowds are something to consider before you charge DR. There are probably better places to learn how to ride. Of course, if you want to join in the carnage, no worries!

ERIC ...IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON IN THE DR AROUND THE 11TH OF AUGUST THAT MIGHT INCREASE ACTIVITY I ALWAYS GO TO ARUBA IN JUNE AFTER THE HIGH WINDS BCAUSE IT IS SUCH A MADE HOUSE. THE NUMBERS MIGHT BE A PROBLEM BUT THE WIND WILL ALLOW ME TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING THAT I CAN'T DO HERE UNTIL PROBABLY LATE SEPT TO OCT. WE ARE TRYING TO GET OUR 07 15 ION ORDERED NOW DELIVERY PROBABLY SEPT, THEY CHANGED THE BAG SIZE, THE BAR(LARGER HOLE TO DECREASE FREY) AND CHANGED OUTER BATTENS TO DECREASE BREAKING WHEN ROLLING UP. COLORS ARE DIFFERENT DON'T NO HOW MUCH. HAVEN'T GOT UR NUMBER YET
