Wazzup? Did you recruit Jonathan to hold the kite?

Wasn't there a cop show called Adam 12? That's all I can think of when I look at the wingtip.
Any other difference from the Ion besides fewer battens along the trailing edge?
This is an exceptional review Scott. Good work.

Eric, yes, Jonathan was happy to be there that day.
It was blowing 5 or less and he was landboarding with it.

Last night it blew all of 12 knots (max) at times and I was having a pretty good time. It started off at 8 to 10knots with some holes and I could still hold my ground. I was pretty surprised by that.

Brian, in terms of the "thorough review" this kite will speak for itself and anyone who has already flown an Ion knows what I mean :D . I prefer that others write about this kite after they demo it. It is hard for me to not be biased, this is my personal favorite kite of any I have ever flown. :P

Atom 12. Very funny. That is the FIRST thing I thought when numbering the pics. I didn't think anyone would get it though.

Also, as far as I can tell, you nailed it in terms of the differences. I think the lack of battens lightened the kite and made it a little faster thru the window.
It also has a LE attachment point for a fifth line which the Ion lacked.

Thinking about a 15..
I have a 17.5 Machine as a lightwind kite. Would a 15 complement my 12m Ion and replace the Machine? I weigh about 165.

Hmmmm. We haven't gotten a 15 in yet.

We should get the 15m Atom in before very long and I can comment on it further.

Yo Atom 12, it would be killer if you (or anyone else) could fly the Atom side by side with the same size Waroos as pretty much everyone out there has at least flown the Waroo. Good relative comparison. It also would be good to hear about the new bar when it comes in too. Thanks!

Sounds like a plan. I was riding the "police squad" kite last night and Todd was on his 12m Waroo on his surf board. Next time we will switch kites for awhile. That may be as soon as tonight as Todd (and myself) ride every chance we get :)

The Flexi Atoms arrived here this morning.

The time is approaching for the Atom 15 to hit the water.
Can't wait to get solid 20 for both it and the 12m sizes of the kites in the shop.
Solid 15knots would also be appreciated (please wind Gods) to ride the 15m kites. Our season is just around the corner, so this should happen soon.

If all works out well, we should be able to compare the 15m Atom to the 15m Hyper type, Link, Waroo and others soon in a back to back fashion all day (on a weekend) with other kites, as well.

It is my hope is to get several people on all the kites one right after the other, who are then really wanting to give inputs. I guess when the wind cooperates, it shouldn't be too difficult to get people to hop on brand new killer kiting gear, huh? 8)
Just inflate them, attach bar and lines and stand back is what I am thinking.
