Winter is coming!


I am trying to determine what kite I should start with- I want a waroo, I am just not sure if I should grab an 11 as our fall and inter winds are coming, or if due to my weight I should go with a 13. I am assuming that the 15 will be too much kite during most winter days. I will primarily be kiting in the ocean.

I'm building my first two boards, one of which will probably be in the 155-165 range, the other a bit smaller.

Hi, due to your weight and the winds you "should" be learning in I would suggest a 13m. We are entering our windy season but if you are just starting out an 11m would take you quite a bit of wind to get going, which wouldn't make for the ideal conditions to learn in. Once you start riding well you could add a 9m to your quiver as a fall kite.

yeah, i'd agree with codder, even though i dont know much about kiting yet. i weight about 150 and i got a 13m waroo and it works fine for me, pulls me around in stronger winds, so it seems like it would be just right for you.
