I flew my 9 meter ION for the first time yesterday and the kite exceeded my expectations. I live in Oregon and kite in the gorge, which is a notoriously gusty and windy place. The ION thrived in conditons ranging from 15-30, and the kite was always powered.

The kite feels like a C kite, yet you are getting the range and depower of a flat kite. Add in the one pump and bomber construction, and you've got yourself a winner.

The ION has tons of lift; and not only will it take you to the moon, but its a long ride getting there. Best of all, when you crash hard (and on a c kite you would be getting your ass handed to you) the ION loses most of its power when you let go of the bar.

I self-launced the kite in 30kt winds without a problem, and relaunching seemed way easier than on a traditional four line kite.
