anyone ever kited there and had good or bad results? I've checked it out on the ski and current doesn't seem bad away from the inlet. I saw no sharks (as previously rumored). there was launching room on both east and west sides. parking is $1 on big talbot side and free on litle talbot--no signs restricting kiting. the area is larger than hugonot pond and way deeper. i hate to do it by myself because of safety in an unknow spot. anybody want to try it? i'm off fri thru mon for the rest of the year.

Phil,
I hear kiting is great there, but only if you have inflatable kites...

Fish that area. A lot of currents -- doubble black dimond stuff. Could be outstanding. Could come home in a body bag.

There is about $1/2 Billion in gold someplace on the bottem.

Good luck

I have been there. It's fun especially on outgoing tide and East to SE winds. I parked and launched from the southern tip of Amelia Island. Beware that this area is a bird sanctuary for some of the year...signs are small and the rangers are not so nice about it.

I worked my way upwind and had complete glass near bird island and there is a small lagoon between bird island closer to Talbot....also glassy and even better its shallow.

Do not kite this spot alone. It's a long long swim back. Good idea to take a cell phone with you too. Just in case you need a ride back to your car.
